Our Philosophy

Bayside Labs has been breeding Labrador Retrievers since the 1980’s.  We are a noted Breeder of Merit by AKC and OFA all our breeding stock.   We are now located in the Gallatin County of Montana.

Bayside Labs pride ourselves in providing a clean, healthy, safe and educational environment in which to raise a Labrador puppy.  Stimulation in the environment, teach the Labrador pups how to think and learn to navigate. It is our belief that Labrador Puppies need to be exposed to things that they will encounter in their future working career between 5 weeks and 16 weeks of age. This type of socializing offers our Labrador Puppies a huge benefit.

It is our belief that genetic health clearances and temperament soundness are of great importance. Our breeding stock is screened for OFA (hip & elbow), CERF (eye) and CARDIAC (heart) disease, EIC (exercise induced collapse) and CNM (Centronuclear Myopathy) and D-Locus (dilute gene, no silver) Copper Toxicosis A & B and many additional DNA tests. We strive to produce soundness and good temperaments in our breeding program and we support our commitment with a written guarantee. All of our breeding stock is proven  to be a worthy working Labrador by obtaining an AKC TITLE prior to breeding.  Bayside litters are responsibly planned, carefully selected; therefore they are limited.

Bayside pups are raised in the house with a family environment and lifestyle. We place extreme emphasis on the socialization of our pups. Early introductions to a variety of new experiences and environments are practiced while we grade for temperament and bird enthusiasm.  Exposure to elements such as water, cover and birds is essential when selecting a gundog.  Socializing around other animals, cats and dogs, trips in the car are important conditioning when selecting a service/therapy dog.

Bayside Labrador puppies are sold on limited AKC registration, have micro-chipping and 1st vaccine is done by our veterinarian prior to being placed into new homes. We no long remove dewclaws, we feel it’s necessary for the dog to keep them. Bayside Labs provide you with a medical chart of worming and vaccines given. A pedigree with listed health clearances of both sire and dam will be in your packet.
